The purpose of reverse engineering is to allow the gearbox maintenance personnel to better and more efficiently complete repairs. At the same time, reverse engineering can provide accurate basic gearbox data when the gearbox engineers optimize gearbox performance.

Reverse engineering technology mainly involves two aspects. The first is that engineers use sophisticated measuring instruments to measure the relevant parts of the gearbox. The second is that the experienced gearbox engineers calculate, according to the measured sizes and related design, to obtain basic repair data from the gearbox.
